Admit it. You were going to get up early and vote before you went to work. You promised yourself that you would, but you didn't quite make it. I understand. Mornings are like that.
But never mind, the polling stations are going to stay open until 10pm ... so you've still got the chance to be part of the Yes vote today. Take it.
That guilty feeling that's been gnawing away inside you all day will just disappear, I promise. And tomorrow night you'll be able to celebrate with a clear conscience and proudly say you were part of it.
And if you can persuade a few others to vote as well, we'll have an even bigger celebration.

I'm nervous. Loads of postal votes ... which tend to be votes for the status quo or for conservatism. Votes cast before any meaningful debate. An anti-government and anti-politics feeling. People not knowing what the Assembly does and what it doesn't.
Labour people voting no ... because the Assembly (Labour) hasn't done anything!??!

Just voted at around 7.15 pm. Very low turn-out. Around 33% so far......mostly retirees which have moved into the area which surprised me. This is in south Ceredigion.
I'm sticking my neck out and made my own predictions.
TL,DR version :
1. Crap turnout around 30-35%
2. Similar voting patterns to 97, just higher yes proportion.
3. Yes 53% No 47%
Voted 40 minutes ago. On the sheet where they cross out your name it looks like that 35%-45% have turned out to vote where I am.
Where's that? I bet it's Deeside.
I couldn't see how many had been crossed off clearly, but looked around 10% in my bit of Cardiff - that was about 7pm

Do they number ballot papers consecutively, because I was number 112 at 8pm?
In my bit of Cardiff North I suspect a low turnout would be a very good thing.
Getting very nervous, particularly after reading far too many breathtakingly stupid reasons people have given for voting No.
Can anyone remember what sort of lead the Yes side had in the eve-of-referendum polls in 1997? I know they weren't anything like 69% v 21%, but I remember they were sufficiently ahead for me to believe that winning would be a formality...
Or 69% v 31% even...
The last opinion poll in '97 was something like Yes 36%, No 28%, Don't Know 36%, so we're well ahead of that.
Seriously, a no vote would be about the biggest upset in opinion polling history (it's too late to jinx us now).
As close as that was it? Thanks, I'd forgotten that.
(And as you posted that, several thousand cantankerous Gwent pensioners chose the last minute to make their way to the polling booths...)
